Loving You

Chapter 3

Yoochun had no clue where to go after he left the funeral home, consequence of being impulsive. He asked the cab driver to drop him off at a bar. Any bar. The first one in sight was called Afterglow. (A/N: It’s just a bar and restaurant, not to be confused with a club.)

Yoochun paid the man and stepped out of the vehicle. When he entered, there were a few customers inside. But more importantly, it was quiet, which was what he needed right now.

Within a few minutes, he was taking shots of vodka. The alcohol burned his throat and his empty stomach, but he didn’t care. He wanted to drink until he couldn’t feel anything anymore. He bowed his head over the counter as his thoughts returned to the scene between mother and son at the funeral home.

It was true what Kim Junsu had said to his mother. All of it. He was indeed the reason why the Kim family broke apart two years ago. He ruined Junho’s relationship with his father and now he’s ruining Junsu’s relationship with his mother. The woman had slapped her own son because he had badmouthed Yoochun. He was a stranger yet Mrs. Kim had protected him. She shouldn’t have, because he was nobody important. Now, Junsu must hate him even more than he already does.

‘I don’t belong here (in Seoul with the Kims),’ he thought sadly to himself and downed another shot of vodka. His eyes began to water at the thought of being alone again, with no family and no Junho. He quickly wiped his tears away before they had a chance to touch his cheeks. He refused to cry in public. He took two more shots before his eyelids started getting heavy. Unlike most people who get drunk, Yoochun is a quiet, sleepy drunk.  He rested his head on the counter of the bar.

It wasn’t long before a slightly chubby man with short, auburn hair by the name of Kangin took a seat next to him. He had been eying the younger ever since he (Yoochun) had walked in. There was something awfully familiar about the man but Kangin couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He decided to push that thought aside while he waited patiently from his table in the corner for the perfect opportunity to approach the attractive man at the bar.

“May I buy you a drink?” he asked.

Yoochun acknowledged by waving a hand in the air. Whether that meant a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’, Kangin did not wait to find out.

“One Adios M.F., please,” he told the bartender.

(A/N: Adios Mother F*cker is the name of an alcoholic mixed drink.  ‘Adios’ is Spanish for ‘goodbye’ or some other kind of farewell saying.)

Before he handed Yoochun the drink, he slyly slipped in a roofie (date rape pill). Yoochun drank the drink offered to him, oblivious to the danger of the content in his glass. He rested his head on the counter once again.

Kangin chose this time to take Yoochun into one of the VIP rooms. Once inside, he set Yoochun on one of the long, black leather couches. The drugged man had no idea what was going on. All he knew was that he was sleeping quite comfortably than a few minutes ago.

With his back to the door of the room, Kangin sat on the spot on the couch beside Yoochun’s left knee. He began unbuttoning the sleeping man’s shirt to expose his milky white chest. His eyes roamed all over Yoochun’s chest hungrily. He gave in to his urge and suckled on Yoochun’s nipples.

A soft moan escaped Yoochun’s lips, driving Kangin’s desires wild. He wanted more. He sat back up and impatiently unbuckled Yoochun’s belt.

“That’s enough, Kangin,” came a voice from behind.

He froze. He could have sworn he heard his boss’s voice. He turned towards the entrance and he was right.

“Director Kim!”

He quickly pulled Yoochun’s shirt back together to cover his bare chest. He stood up and bowed his head.

“Fancy seeing you here, sir,” he said when he stood upright.

Junsu only stared back as he stood there coolly with his glass of red wine in his right hand and his left hand inside his pant pocket.

Several minutes ago...

Jaejoong caught up with Junsu in the hallway of the funeral home.

“Junsu-yah, are you okay?” he asked with concern.

“I need a drink,” Junsu said roughly.

“All right,” the older put a hand on Junsu’s shoulder to calm him down. “I’ll drive you to Afterglow. Come on.”

Jaejoong’s father owned Afterglow. Occasionally, Jaejoong would co-manage the place. It was there where he first met Junsu two years ago. The younger had been drinking heavily one night due to some personal affairs. When they became better acquainted, a.k.a. friends, Junsu told him the reason behind his drinking that night: his brother had left home. He was angry at his twin and resented his father and Park Yoochun. He had never told anybody how he felt about his broken family except for Jaejoong. The topic was never brought up again.

Junsu immediately ordered a beer when they arrived at Afterglow. He didn’t like drinking hard liquor. He preferred beer, wine, or champagne, since the alcohol proof was much lower. The lower the proof of alcohol, the longer it took to get drunk was his theory. And he didn’t like getting drunk. The morning after drinking heavily was something he did not want to relive.

The two friends sat at a booth in the dark for fifteen minutes before Jaejoong spotted Yoochun sitting and taking shots at the bar. Junsu glanced over at the bar and, indeed, it was Park Yoochun. He simply couldn’t believe the odds.

“Forget him,” he said as he finished his second bottle of beer.

He ordered a glass of red wine next. It went down his throat a lot smoother than beer, and he just wanted to relax now. Plus, it was healthy to drink at least one glass of red wine each day.

His eyes kept wandering back to his brother’s spouse though. If anything happened to Yoochun, his mother would blame him (Junsu).  He saw that the mourning man had rested his head on the counter.  That’s when he noticed a hotel employee walking up to Yoochun. Kangin. He and Jaejoong watched as the older man bought Yoochun a drink. His friend sat up straight when the man slipped something into the drink he handed to Yoochun.

“This is bad, Junsu. Real bad.”

“I agree.”

It took everything inside of Junsu not to beat the daylights out of his employee right now. To drug someone into having unconsented sex with him was unforgiveable. But a potential lawsuit on his hands would not be good for the hotel’s reputation. There was a more civil way to handle this.

Kangin was growing restless when his boss remained silent. Why was his boss there all of a sudden, wasting his time when he could be devouring the beautiful creature unconscious on the couch?

“Were you at the funeral today?” Junsu asked, pretending to be more interested in the wine, whirling in his glass.

“Uh…yes, sir, I was. I’m very sorry for your loss.”

Junsu glared at him then, taking slow steps towards him. “Then you must know who this man you’re about to take advantage of is, correct?” his voice low and scary.

Was he supposed to?  Kangin wondered. He looked down at the couch and observed the sleeping man’s features. Flashbacks of a young man standing beside Mrs. Kim at the funeral home appeared in his head. It was all starting to come back. He remembered now. This man sleeping on the couch was that young man!

No wonder he had looked familiar, Kangin thought. Then that means…his victim was the spouse of Kim Junho. The man went pale from the realization. He turned slowly to face his boss again.

“S-sir, I-I can explain,” he stammered. “P-please let me explain!”

Just then, two police officers and Jaejoong walked in. He had made the phone call to the police station when Kangin took Yoochun to the VIP room.

“Don’t worry. You’ll get a chance to explain everything…down at the police station, that is. Take him away, officers,” Jaejoong commanded.

They walked behind Kangin and handcuffed him.

“Junsu-sshi! You can’t be serious! You’re having me arrested? But I didn’t know! I didn’t know he was your brother-in-law!”

“You are under arrest for the use of the date rape drug and attempted rape,” one of the officers clarified.

“What?! I didn’t use any date rape drug!” he denied as the officers hauled him out of the room.

Jaejoong turned to his friend. “You got this?” he asked, referring to Yoochun.

Junsu nodded. “Yunho will be here soon to draw his blood to get it tested for signs of the drug.”

As thrilled as Jaejoong was to know that Yunho would be coming to this very bar, there were more important matters to attend to.

“Okay. I’m gonna go give a statement down at the police station. Call me if you need me.” He exited the room, shutting the door behind him.

Junsu was still standing above Yoochun. He took his time to observe his brother’s spouse. How could an adult be this naïve?  he wondered. Accepting alcoholic drinks from complete strangers. How completely careless!

He let out a sigh. He sat in the same spot Kangin sat on the couch and set his wine glass on the table. He buckled Yoochun’s belt. Then he pulled Yoochun’s upper body up to his chest so that he could remove Yoochun’s suit jacket and dress shirt. This way, it would be easier for Yunho to draw blood from Yoochun’s arm.

As he did this, Yoochun stirred in his sleep. He lifted his heavy eyelids to see what was happening. Through his blurry vision, he saw Junho and he was…undressing him? Yoochun figured he must be dreaming. There was no way that Junho was right there with him. It’s got to be a dream. When “Junho” removed his arm free of his shirt, Yoochun brought them up to wrap around the man’s neck.

“Junnie...” he said in a tired voice and rested his forehead atop of Junsu’s, eyes closed.

Junsu froze and stared at the man invading his personal space. He blinked furiously as his heart raced. It was the first time he was ever this close to another person (man) besides his family and Jaejoong.

“You’re here,” Yoochun smiled as a tear streamed down his cheek.

Junsu felt a pang in his heart. He couldn’t begin to imagine how hard it must be to lose the love of your life, but he could bet that it’s gotta be the most painful thing anyone can experience.

He was deep in his thoughts and before he knew it, Yoochun’s lips were on his. His eyes widened in surprise and froze in place. He noted that Yoochun’s lips were soft and tasted like alcohol. Then Yoochun fell onto Junsu’s shoulder, arms fell limp. He was unconscious. The drug had finally set in.

A knock came from behind, bringing Junsu out of his reverie. He returned Yoochun to his original position on the couch.

“Everything all right here?” Yunho asked after he entered.

“It is now.” Junsu grabbed his wine and gulped it down as he stood up. “Thank you for coming, Yunho.”

“Anything for you and your family,” he said as he sat on the couch and prepared the medical equipment on the table.

“Our parents can never know about this,” Junsu stated.

“I agree. We should consider ourselves lucky that the date rape drug has no long-term effects. Yoochun-sshi would have no recollection of what happened, just a really bad hangover.”

Junsu watched as the young doctor tied what looked like a large rubber band around the lower part of Yoochun’s bicep. He then wiped it clean before sticking the needle in the desired vein. When he had the perfect amount of blood, he drew the needle back and bandaged that part of Yoochun’s arm. He returned all of his equipment into his leather medical bag and stood up.

“Right. So I will send this off to the lab to get it tested and turn it over to the police for evidence against the man who attempted this.”

He glanced down at Yoochun. “What are you planning to do with him?”

Junsu glanced at him as well. “I can’t take him home in the state that he is in, so I’ll take him to my suite at the hotel and watch over him till the time of the burial.”

Yunho nodded and bid him good night.

Junsu quickly covered Yoochun with his (Yoochun’s) suit jacket to keep him warm. He had to make a quick phone call first. He pulled out his cell phone from his pocket and dialed his home phone number to inform his mother that Yoochun had checked into a room at their Aria hotel and that he will escort him to the cemetery the following morning.

His mother was relieved to hear that Yoochun was fine. She had been worried sick since he left the funeral home, especially since he had nowhere to go and she had no way of contacting him.

“Thank you, sweetie. Get lots of rest, okay?”

        “You, too, Mom.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night.”

        “Good night.”

Thank you for your comment! I'm a little afraid it might be slow at times and that the development/progression might flop as I continue to write this fic.
